My kids are back at Purdue University, and so I am back to writing them letters each week. No doubt this quote made them roll their eyes. :) I made the marbled paper at the Round Robin during the 2009 IAMPETH Convention in Nashville. It was an acrylic paint in shaving cream technique. I'm sure you could find an online tutorial for it, if you're interested. I used a Zebra G nib and Winsor & Newton Designer's Gouache. I used blue ZIG markers for the envelopes (Brushable, Writer and Wink of Stella).
I hope you've had a great week!
I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit all my favorite bloggers lately. I need to get out more! :)
That is so great that you write your kids every week. They will cherish those letters. I love that quote and I can just bet you that your kids won't roll their eyes! Have a wonderful weekend, Jane.

ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL letters to your children... they might roll their eyes, but deep down I think they'll be really thrilled to receive your beautiful sentiments... I found out my son has kept every card/envelope I've made and sent him over the years at school! Who'd have though?!? :D
Thanks for the info on the marbling technique... it's really lovely! I'm going to look for it now!

ReplyDeleteHello there, Jane! Sorry I haven't visited YOU lately! I love this quote and what you did with it on the shaving cream marbled papers!!! Someone demo'd it for the CCC back when I first became a member and I thought it was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd how cool that your children get to receive such beautiful letters from home while they're away at school. I'll bet they're the talk of the dorm. :-)
Hope you're doing well. Didn't see a Newberry entry from you this year!!! (I was a juror.) Perhaps next year???????
