Hello Friends! I've been away and returned this week. (Will I ever catch up?!) Thanks for your emails and comments about the "Put On Love" piece I showed a couple of weeks ago. I promise to do a future post about how I did the embossing. For today's Flourish Friday, I'm showing a piece (actually one of two similar pieces) I did for the Calligraphy Guild of Indiana's Quarterly Exchange.
The theme for this quarter was doubling, and we were to create two pieces to send to two different guild members. I did my pieces using the theme of Double Happiness. I have a rubber stamp of the kanji for "happiness" which I stamped twice and then went over with gouache and a brush. (There might be a specific kanji for "double happiness" - I'm not sure!)
It was a fun exchange, and I received two beautiful pieces in return. :)
I see this is my 199 blog post for A Place to Flourish.
I think that calls for a giveaway next week.
I hope you'll visit next week and help me celebrate my 200th milestone.
Have a great weekend.
Go forth and flourish!
xo

You are so clever and resourceful! Wonderful piece! Congratulations on your upcoming milestone! XO
ReplyDeleteYour lettering is beautiful, and I love the red and green together! I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who crosses t's at the end of a piece :)
ReplyDeleteJane, I'm just getting back to life after a kitchen remodel and just wanted to say it was so good to meet you at Twinrocker! Hope to see you again soon!
