I saw this beautiful, calligraphic Christmas tree on page 105 of Bill Hildebrandt's book Calligraphic Flourishing: A New Approach to an Ancient Art. Isn't it a beautiful design? I used my graph paper transparency to assist in the layout. I then put my layout rough onto my light table, placed my good paper over the rough and did the flourishing.
After 25 years, I got hair cut short! I didn't realize how long my hair had grown until my stylist said, "I think you have enough for Locks of Love." Actually, at 9" it was an inch short for LOL, but my stylist knew of a place in Mississippi that takes any ponytails over 6". So, I pray my hair is being used by Pink Heart Funds to brighten some one's life. To learn more about Pink Heart Funds, or how to "Share Your Hair" click here.

ReplyDeleteYou are adorable, Jane. Love the short hair. My daughter just cut hers all off and wanted to send it somewhere but didn't know where to send it. I forwarded her your blog post. God works in wonderful ways.
ReplyDeleteLooking good Jane!
ReplyDeleteI was just looking through you blog thinking how much it has developed in so short a time! Well done you! Lots of followers and I love your 'calligraphers who blog' list. I'm looking forward to browsing through them. Rx.
Jane you are precious! Love the hair cut!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is lovely too!
Beautiful hair cut! Thank you for posting the link to Pink Heart Funds. My son has beautiful long hair and occasionally talks about getting it cut - but I don't think he could meet the 10" requirement for Locks of Love. I have stored the link to PInk Heart Funds in case he should deicide to cut it in the future.
