Here are some images of flourished Valentines I did recently to list in my Etsy Shop...my exceedingly anemic Etsy shop. If I actually produced every piece I think of creating to put in my shop, then I would have a very, robust shop! :)

I don't have all the Valentine pieces listed yet, because I am the Queen of Procrastination. Actually, I have been the Queen of the Land of Wedding Invitation Envelopes. January use to be a slow time, when I could play and try new things, but I am happy to have the work.

I used a Hunt 22 Nib and Schmincke Red Pearl gouache.

I enjoyed creating these and making each one a little different.

Unfortunately, you can't really tell how beautiful the Red Pearl gouache is from these images.

I have been practicing working very small. I've also been trying to lighten my touch in order to get super, thin hairlines.

For my practice, I used a Brause 515 and Dr. Martin's Bleedproof White.
Back to the lightboard!
Have a great and flourishy weekend everyone!
Jane, It is gorgeous!! I especially like the heart-shaped paper. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteQueen of Procrastination??? Anyone who has made even one Valentine card in January is incredibly organized in my world! Beautiful, Jane.

I second what Jody said! If I get my Christmas cards out by Valentine's Day, I consider that quite an accomplishment. Your heart is just beautiful. Looks letterpressed. Thank you for hosting me when I am out there next month. I am so looking forward to it. Harvest
ReplyDeleteHI, Jane, love your Valentine heart and your flourishes are so nice as always. I always have projects in my head too that never seem to get down on paper. Take care
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet Valentine's cards. Just beautiful!! Love the heart shape too!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly tiny flourishing Jane - mind boggling in fact! Stylish and beautiful work as ever...
ReplyDeleteDitto to what Jody and Harvest said - if you have Valentine's completed in January - you are about 2 months ahead of me! ;0
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the Red Pearl gouache! Schmincke gouache is probably my favorite brand.
Just gorgeous, Jane! Thanks for the inspiration.
xxoo~~
Ditto, ditto to Jody and Harvest! Valentines?!!! In January???!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour work is stunning, as usual, Jane. And I can't believe how delicate those small forms are. They are just amazing! Well done.
Um ... wow .. that's all I can say! To both the delicate work and getting valentines done already!
