Trust in the Lord

I always get myself into trouble when I only rule a baseline for italic lettering. I need a waistline too (what girl doesn't want a nice waistline?!). I started off just the size I wanted, but by the end I had slowly but surely increased the lettering....
height. sigh....
UPDATE: I did the embossing by cutting out my lettering from a piece of bristol board, and then blind embossing. Check out my April 29, 2009 post about it here.

  1. I love that piece! What did you use to emboss the word "Trust?"

  2. Interesting, I don't think I would have noticed the size difference if you had not mentioned it.
It is still beautiful, I kind of like it, like you meant to do that! :)

  3. I am liking it too! The change in height is so gradual, it does seem to be a part of the work and not a mistake. Go with it! How did you do the TRUST? It is a very powerful visual.

  4. I love this, Jane! Your Italic is beautiful and we all have just a critical eye with our calligraphy but this looks really really nice!

  5. great piece, jane! i love the embossing!! and i don't think that i would have noticed the different letter sizes....i was too wowed by the beauty of your letters themselves! i'm with you.....give me lines and i'm a happy camper!! :)

  6. Probably my favorite verse . . . my friend Kelly gave me a book mark with this verse on it yesterday!! Love ya seestor
