Good to see you posting again Jane. Wow, fabulous as always. I'm curious, approximately how long does it take you to write out a page like this (including any warm-up time)? Linda E.
ReplyDeleteHi, Linda! Thank you for your visit and comment. I appreciate your encouragement and long term support of my work. :) When working in this journal, I only do one stanza at a time. I'd say one stanza takes me 40 minutes. The paper in this journal is extremely fibrous (and frustrating!) I came to calligraphy through the Ugly Handwriting door, so I work very slowly compared to most. I must carefully form my letters, and even more so with tiny fibers continually getting caught in the nib. Hope this info helps.
ReplyDeleteYour hand is SO gorgeous! I dabble in calligraphy, not so much anymore, nor my watercolor painting, as I have an unsteady hand most of the time due to medications for asthma... AND you write The Word ... glorious!
ReplyDeleteJane, I love visiting your blog and I am so inspired by your hymn project. The list of hymns is no longer available without pay - do you think you could provide the list? I'm sure there some I would add or subtract - I doubt I could limit my own favorites to so few!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your inspiring posts!
Thank you, Jennifer! I have done the 6th and 7th hymns, but I am soooo far behind on posting to my blogs. I hope to do all 27 hymns on the list: Abide with Me; All Hail the Power of Jesus Name; Come Ye Thankful People come; Crown Him with Many Crowns; Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken; Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah; Holy, Holy Holy; How Firm a Foundation; In the Cross of Christ I Glory; Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun; Love Divine, All Loves Excelling; O Sacred Head, Now Wounded; When I Survey the Wondrous Cross; A Mighty Fortress is Our God; All Glory, Laud and Honor; Come, Thou Almighty King; Just As I Am; Now Thank We All Our God; O, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing; O God, Our Help in Ages Past; O, Worship the King All Glorious Above; The Church's One Foundation is Jesus Christ Her Lord; Christ the Lord is Risen Today; Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee; Saviour, Like a Shepherd Lead Us; The Day of Resurrection; There's Wideness in God's Mercy
DeletePerfect! Thanks!
